Mouse double click speed not saved

Hi,
I run Windows XP Home Edition on my laptop and did install a USB mouse (not sure, if that causes my problem). But everytime I start my laptop I have to set my mouse double click speed and it doesn't save it when I shutdown my laptop!
Does anyone know where I could set it in the registry?
