Low Volume/Sound question(s)

I have a VPR MATRIX laptop and all of a sudden the sound from my internal speakers is EXTREMELY muted. When all settings are at 10 and the volume controls and all the way up it is still very hard to hear. When I plug in external speakers they work. Is this an internal speaker problem? Can I get new ones? Or is it a setting problem? All my advanced Volume controls and fine.

Also, another question...everytime my computer comes out of STANDBY mode the sound does not work and I have to restart.
