Java Virtual Machine Launcher Error

For approximately the last 2-3 weeks, every time I start or restart my Dell Inspiron 8600 with Windows XP Home, I get the following error message: Java Virtual Machine Launcher -- "Could not find main class. Program will now exit." (This error message seems to be the last thing to happen just as my desktop finishes loading.) I click OK and everything seems to run OK, but I'm sure that something must be corrupted. Norton SystemWorks can't find any problems and Dell Technical Support was of no help.

I'd appreciate any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance for your help.
