Installing Software on all profiles

message from =?Utf-8?B?U3RldmUgUA==?= on 3 Jun 2004
Hello, I have an XP Pro install with 5 profiles (incl admin), How do I install a program once and make sure it is available to all users? Is this possible or do I have to install for each profile? thanks, Steve

Depends on the application and the differeing permissions each user has on
the machine in question.

Most of the time (if everyone is Power Users or above) you can just copy the
shortcut from one profile to the All Users profile and then everyone can run
it.

Hi Steve,

It depends on the program, some programs won't run in limited accounts
for security reasons.

However, you could try installing the program and then copy the icon
from Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Start up menu\Programs to

Documents and Settings\All Users\Start up menu\Programs.

This should ensure that the program appears on the start menu of all
users.

Good luck
