Icons/Desktop not loading |

Cannot get my desktop/startup/icons to show after I have logged on to my laptop (potential virus). How can I biring these back up to rebuild?

Hi hpuser,
Press Ctrl + Alt + del and open a new task --> regedit
Browse to the key
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Check if you have an entry called "NoDesktop" and change its value to
"0" (Hexadecimal)

Try right clicking anywhere on the desktop, select arrange icons by, then
select Show Desktop Icons.
