Go to Start > Run and type
shutdown -a (press enter)
This will stop the countdown and give you time to troubleshoot.

The stinger tool helps in detecting and
cleaning the Sasser worm.

Ok..what shall I do next? I have ran the stinger and it detected and deleted the blaster virus. As soon as I came online though the LSA shell message has come up and I know it is still going to shut me down. What will be my next step? Do I need to download Internet Explorer again? If I do...could u please give me the link..as my computer shuts down so quickly I don't even have time to loook for it. Thanks so much for your help so far.

Ok. As soon as you get the shutdown message click 'Start' then 'Run'
then type 'shutdown -a' then click OK. This aborts the shutdown process
and should allow you to do the critical updates you need. Good luck.

Hi,

When the windows about the shutdown pops up
go to Start > Run
and type
shutdown -a

This will give you time to troubleshoot, or
double-click the date in the left side,
a clock will come up, set the year back to 2003
click apply.
This will also give you time to troubleshoot.

It is important that you enable your firewall
