Help! Can't get MSN to open.

When trying to get on MSN or Hotmail, I can hear the system dial-up and then connect; however, all I get is the part the MSN screen that says "Welcome to MSN". If I try to do it again, I get the message that I have already been connected. What can I do to fix this?
