How do I stop searching zip files when doing a global search? |
| message from =?Utf-8?B?RXVnZW5lIEtheQ==?= on 30 May 2004 |
I would like to to search for files but not include searching all of my zip files in my directories.
I can't find an option to stop searching zip files.
Thanks,

From "PC Magazine", May 18, 2004, page 82: Item - Stop Win XP from Searching
Within ZIP Files
Solution: Start > Run regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll and/or regsvr32 /u cabview.dll
Each time, you should get a notice that DllUnregister succeeded. Computer
must be rebooted.
These two changes can be undone by running regsvr32 again without the /u
Search will no longer search ZIP or CAB files if you do both.
