Hard Disk runs and runs... |
| message from PEnet on 10 Jun 2004 |
After installing a Minolta 1250E printer my hard drive ran continuously
making programs drag to a crawl. Removing the drivers took care of the
problem. Now I've installed Microsoft Streets and Trips 2004 and the problem
returned. I had to remove the program to get back up to speed.
What I would really like would be the ability to use both the printer and
the program.
Next problem. I installed ME on C partition, Partition Magic 8, and XP on D.
After loading drivers and programs in XP I returned to ME only to find that
it will only start in Safe Mode. Check disk doesn't fix it and of course
there are no restore points to revert to.
Any suggestions?

What your computer is doing is accessing the hard drive
for temp. memory space. Try to buy some more memory and
that should solve the problem

I considered that but I have 512m of ram and the drive runs even if no
program is running. If I leave the computer on for 12 hours the drive runs
the entire time.
