HELP!!!! |
| message from Scotty & Amanda Huff on 8 Jun 2004 |
Ok, I'm really baffled! Mouse started acting really erratic, so I decided
to reinstall the driver. I noticed there was a generic PS/2 mouse driver
installed, so I installed the driver that came with the mouse (A4 Tech 2
button). Anyway, when I did that, the device manager told me that my
keyboard was now possible in conflict with another PS/2 device. So I tried
to reinstall that device.
Well, here's where it gets weird. That didn't seem to work, so I decided to
reinstall XP. During the install there was an error. The install completed
anyway but it messed up my ability to get into my device manager. Anyway, I
fixed that problem, but when I rebooted, my keyboard and mouse no longer
work. That's right, I cannot communicate with my computer (except if I boot
to DOS). Anyway, I tried to reinstall again, but the install procedure
requires input and even during the install I don't have keyboard or mouse
use.
Is there ANY way to remove those devices from a DOS prompt so XP loads a
default driver for them?
Is there any other way around this?
I don't want to do a brand new XP install. I don't want to have to
reinstall all my software and settings!
HELP!
