Format Uh Oh's |
| message from Cam on 8 Jun 2004 |
Recently I formatted my computer (yesterday) and I was (ashamedly) not
thorough in looking up all the information into what I needed to back up for
my AIM away messages. Apparently it's stored in the registry and not in the
programs directory.
I can get a data recovery program, but I need a little guidance.
Is it actually possible to recover the registry (or just what I need) or is
after a format that portion totally inaccessible?
If there is any advice, sites or that may help I'd appreciate it.
I understand that this seems like a small issue, but considering the number
of poetry I've had in my messages I'd like to attempt to retrieve it. My
thanks to any advice you may lend to me.

If you actually formated the HD, then you've lost the data stored on
it.

Data can be recovered from a formatted hard drive as long as the space
has not been overwritten with new files.
