File Directory Font color change |
| message from John Eppley on 08 Jun 2004 |
I recently downloaded and installed several MS "upgrades". Suddenly, when I
display directory contents, the font color has changed to "blue", while
directory "folder" fonts remain "black". Additionally, within a given
directory, system files remain "black".
Any idea what happened ???? I did not make any changes, and I can't seem to
find a way of restoring the "black" fonts for ALL directory items.

Hi John,
That's because it is a compressed file,
You can go to Windows Explorer > Tools > Folder Options > View tab
and uncheck 'show zipped or encrypted files with other color' (or
words to that effect).
Good luck

They're compressed. You can't change it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have no idea how the changes were made, but I
unchecked the appropriate box, and everything is well. Thanks again to both
of you.
