Error in Explorer when changing network properties

message from Clive on 12 Jun 2004
Anyone know how to fix the following problem?

Whenever I change any propeties of any connection, windows explorer will
crash out (with one of the standard "Windows Explorer has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience" errors)
when I click OK (on the window with General, Authetification and
Advanced Tabs), the setting changed then dont take effect in that
session but will do after reboot.

I've not installed any new drivers of any kind and not changed any
network settings, so what the hell is causing this and how do I fix it?

To Clive Here are a few you might start with. There could be other things causing problem. Is your Internet Explorer6 updated? IE property settings have to be in sync with internet/network settings in the control panel. Also your ISP settings have to match with IE. The right settings will keep viruses out if that's causing the problem.
