Dialer

Whenever I open Outlook Express Address, I try to use dialer to dial the
phone number. Some reason, it takes two - three minutes to dial the phone
number. Can anyone help me out? Or is there a better software for the dialer
other than Microsoft. I had this trouble since using XP.
