Maybe it was compatibility mode. Or creating another primary partition
just for DOS to run the (snicker, snicker) old DOS game, and then using
a boot manager or just changing with partition is active to switch
between operating systems.

i'm receiving conflicting info about 1] partitioning an NTFS drive and 2]
using a boot floppy to run a "pure" dos environment. if you're a wizard,
