Chk Dsk

I recently had a problem with my computer and when i turned it on it came up with chk dsk and when i tried to log into my user it came up with an error saying "could not load profile", and now when i log into my area it just comes up with all the basic programs, and none that i had on my user before, can someone help me? please?

Im running windows XP home, with a pentium 4 processor.

Any help would be appreciated.
