Changing default browser

Most of the time I use Firefox and I want to set it as my default browser, so I go to Start --> Programaccess and -preferences (or something like that, I use the dutch version of windows xp). Then I choose "Modified" and I set Mozilla Firefox as the default browser and press OK. Nothing changes, he still opens everything in Internet Explorer :(.
