Cannot Take Control w/Remote Assistance. |
| message from tiatee on 3 Jun 2004 |
I am on LAN connections here at work. We use Remote
Assistance quite frequently using the Take Control
option. The issue I have with this particular user
is........Connected via remote assistance using two admin
accounts, looks like it automatically connects at "Screen
View Only". When I try to Take Control, get the
message "Control of Remote Computer is Not Allowed".
Checked all settings (under System Properties\Remote)and
they are all set to "allow remote assistance". Anyone
else with this issue. Does MS Instant Messanger change
any settings. That is the only additional thing this
user has installed.

Yes the firewall will cause a problem with being able to connect, but if the settings are coming down correctly (or have been set up correctly) to allow it then those should take precedence. Be sure the settings for GP are set correctly and then go into the firewall settings and add the remote assit/desktop to run.
