Cannot Boot Up ... Driver Timeout

message from SamMan on 4 Jun 2004
Well, I left the PC on overnight to download and this morning, I got this
message and now I cannot boot up in either safe mode or normally. Booting
up the many different ways always yields a long load time to only get this
message.

"Windows - Device Timeout

The specific I/O operation on \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 was not completed before
the time-out expired.

It then gives three option buttons.

Cancel Try Again Continue"

It does not matter what I click on, nothing happens and after a few minutes,
the same message comes back.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. BTW, I think I had disabled the
firewall in Windows Xp and from my router at the time of the download.

Any help would be appreciated or I might just use the backup and restore everything to factory spec...meaning losing everything.

Hi,

If you have the XP CD you can try to do a repair-install, which should
keep your data.
Detailed instructions here:

Good luck
