I downloaded a program I now want to remove and I can not remove the program until I first close it. I do not now how to close a running program. Help!

It would help to know the name of the program as it may also have a
service associated with it.
Ctrl + Shift + Esc
Look for it.

Try File>Close. Or click the X in the top right corner of the window.
program until I first close it. I do not now how to close a running program.
