Boot volume problem

message from Lawrence on 12 Jun 2004
Windows XP pro, HP with 2000+AMD CPU, 256 Megs Ram.

Windows won't boot. Getting Blue screen stop error saying "Unmountable Boot
Volume", won't boot to Safe Mode either.
Any way to resolve this short of reformating?
Thanks for the Help
