Booting to My Computer

message from Tee on 2 Jun 2004
After trying to install a print server (that did *not* go well) on XP Pro,
then uninstalling it & the associated clients needed, my pc now boots into
the My Computer screen rather than to the desktop.

I retraced my steps from installing the print server and undid,
methodically, everything I did during the installation. I've checked to see
if any of my Services have changed and none have, that I've noted. I
checked my user account as well and it seems fine.

The installation of the print server caused the logon to change as it went
to the Microsoft logon screen w/password to login, look at tasks, shut down,
etc. That is back to normal now but I can't figure out what happened to
cause the pc to not boot straight to the desktop. TIA for any help.
