Blue screen sometimes on windows start |
| message from Bonaldo on 8 Jun 2004 |
Some times (pretty rare) I get a Blue Screen of Death in Windows XP.
A wait operation, attach process, or yield was attempted from a DPC routine
STOP: 0x000000B8
I have all latest updated to Windows XP
My system is:
Pentium 4 3,2 Ghz
Asus P4C800-E Deluxe
Asus Radeon 9800 Pro
1024 MB DDR 3200 RAM
Soundblaster Audigy 2

This is very common if you have CD drive open at start up or try opening CD
drive at the same time as boot-up! I am not sure whether There is a fix for
this. As you know, these days one can boot-up from CDs and so one needs to
remove everything from the CD Drive to avoid problems. I do this at the time
of boot-up if I forgot to remove at last shut down.
In previous OS, the system would simply close the drive and boot up normally
but not in XP Perhaps, Micorosoft wanted people to experience the old blue
screen of death!

I must say however that I have not tried to open the cd drive the times
where it happens?
Also I am not using an Imoega ZIP drive! I am using an Iomega external USB
2.0 HDD sometimes though, but last time it happend that one wasnt
connected...
Any other suggestions?
