Any software to test windows or motherboard?

Hi all,

my windows XP Pro is acting really strange, it restarts by itself. I rebuilt the system, but strange thing still happen. I suspect there is something to do with my motherboard, is there anyway i can test my motherboard using some free diagnostic software?

Otherwise try the web site for the manufacturer of the motherboard to see if
they have any diagnostic programs you can download.
