After upgrade from Win2K-Pro to XP-Pro Media Player won't work - HELP!! |
| message from JG on 3 Jun 2004 |
Hi,
My PC had Windows 2000 Pro.
Tech person here at work upgraded with an upgrade to XP cd.
All works fine, except Windows Media Player. Every time I click on the
icon, I get the "An Internal Application Error has Ocurred" error message.
I have looked and found some info on this. Mainly, to re-register
Jscript.dll and Vbscript.dll. No problem. I've done that and for both, I
get the message that the "DllRegisterServer in jscript.dll succeeded" and
"DllRegisterServer in vbsript.dll succeeded".
I have also tried to unistall the Media Player and perform a new install. I
go through all the installation dialogs and get to the last page after the
'install' has been completed. There I get a message that the install was
not successful and try again. I've done that about 6 times. No dice.
Please, any help would be appreciated...
