upsizer wizard

Hi, my first time here. If a fellow user hadn't told me about these groups I wouldn't know about them. But I am glad they are here now!

I am using Access 2002 Office XP Pro. I have sql server installed on my pc on port 1433. I run zone alarm. I tried to use the upsizer on an Access db and got the message from zone alarm do I want Access to access the internet on port 1434. Obvously the wrong port.

The upsizer can't find the server or access is denied. Does anyone have a clue what I should do from here?

Also, is it possible to enter the newsgroups through my newsreader instead of the web? (OUtlook express)

Thanks, Kim

SQL Server uses both 1433 and 1434 ports. I haven't done any research
on exactly why though.

FWIW Do a search at the Knowledge Base at support.microsoft.com using
the keywords "upsizing" to review the various white papers on upsizing
Access to SQL Server as well as to ensure you have any updates
required.
