strange things happening with data entry in table (Access 2003) |
| message from =?Utf-8?B?a2F5?= on 26 May 2004 |
entering data directly into a table; started OK, but after about 10 records, but when enter is pressed at the end of the row this record suddenly becomes a copy of the previuos record. After that, clicking on any previously entered record causes it to become a duplicate of the one before it! Is this something auto that needs to be unchecked? a bug in access? a corrupt file? (it had been saved on a thumb drive).

A bit of a reach, but are you sure there aren't any sticky
keys on the keyboard? You know that Ctrl+apostrophe dupes
the field above - not sure how to dupe a whole record, but
if there's a key combo that does it, maybe one of those
keys is sticky. This might happen after you use the board
a bit (10 records or so), and might disappear
spontaneously if you happen to rattle the right key and
shake it loose. If this sounds at all plausible, try
swapping keyboards and see the prob goes away.

thanks for the suggestion - I was thinking it seems to be something like that, but it still happens on other computers
