| I have an application I wrote in Access 2000 on my old Win98 computer. I now have a new computer with WinXP Pro on which I installed my Access 2000 program. The application that I developed does not function properly. Many of the command buttons give error messages and often the application will not close. The message to send to Microsoft keeps coming up and then Access shuts down. A new file is written each time Access shuts down with the same name as my application with a ending extension of .ldb. This file type says that it is Access.LockFile.9 I feel that this has something to do with the network capability of WinXP, but I am not on a network. The application still works fine on my Win98 laptop and I even checked it on another persons computer that has Access 2000 with Win98. It seems to be the operating system. What can I do? ... (more) |

One of my users using Citrix is getting 'Cannot load DLL file msjet40.dll' when starting any of my databases. I've found that msjet is an extra installation for Access that allows users to view databases. | Access 2003 MDE fails (by =?Utf-8?B?R3JlZyBNb2hy?= on 27 May 2004, 3 replies) |
|---|
|
I have received the following error after installing the ADE cd and trying to create a MDE of a db. The MDE process works with just one or two tables and two forms, but not with the small db I have created. I have 4 tables, 9 querys, 8 forms, 2 reports and 5 small macros. I consistently receive the error below. My jet 4.0 is version 4.0.8618.0, the link that comes up with the error indicates I should be at v82 or so. This error is usually associated with compiling a large database into an MDE file. Due to the method used to compile the database, a considerable number of TableID references are created for each table. The Microsoft Jet database engine version 4.0 can only create a maximum of 2048 open TableIDs at one time. Exporting a database as an MDE potentially can exceed this limit if the database has a large number of objects (table, macro, form, report, etc). There is no accurate method to estimate the number of TableIDs the Jet database engine uses during the process of compiling a database as an MDE. However, each VBA module and each form uses one TableID, as a result, if the database has 500 forms, and each form's HasModule property is set to Yes, as many as 1,000 TableIDs are used. ... (more) |

I followed the MS Access performance FAQ to the link below. This link is about loading the queries for a form, combobox, etc. at runtime to help improve performance. I attempted to implement this. I was able to get this to work. However, when I load the rowsource for the comboboxes instead of the value from the table the form is connected to showing the value is blank. If I click on the dropdown box the correct value is highlighted and will then show and the dropdown box is populated properly. Is there anyway to work around this to make the value in the table show on load? http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/performanceforms.htm ... (more) |
