I have Access 2003. Some of my files are apparently saved as "(Access 2000 file format)" as that is what the database window shows. I know there are a lot threads talked about AutoNumber. I tried to search but cannot find a similiar situation. I have a table with autonumber as primary key and a form for data input. When something has been typed in the form, Access has got hold of the "autonumber". But, if the user changes the mind the create the record, I found that number is consider used. What I need is a "portal" -- a database whose only function is to show the users all of the databases that are available so they can click on the database that they want to open. I created such a database in Access 2000 and it works beautifully. It also converted to Access 2003 beautifully. The problem now is that every time a user clicks on one of the hyperlinks they get the "hyperlinks can be harmful" message.
