disk or network error

I have a user of a database I created that gets a "disk
or network error" AFTER he logs on. He has been using
the database fine until a couple days ago. He says he
hasn't made any changes on his computer. He has Windows
XP 5.1 SP 1 and Access 2000. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated!

A few possibilities.

1) Something in the file is corrupted. For information on corruption, check

2) There is a problem with the hard drive or network connection. If the file
is on a network share, try copying it to the local hard drive to see if the
problem goes away. If the file is split into front-end/back-end then copy
the back-end to the local hard drive and use Linked Table Manager to relink
to the tables in the new location for testing. To test the local hard drive,
download the drive manufacturer's diagnostic utility and run it.

3) There is a nasty bug in Access 2000 that is fixed in Office 2000's SP3.
