consequetive numbering

Hi there,

[Date] [ClientID] [CourseNumber] [EmployeeID] [VersionNumber]
0504 111 300 123 V3

The [CourseNumber] field is consequetive in its present paper based
form, and I would like to carry this over to the Access version.

Anyone got any ideas how? I've got a bit stuck and confused.
