colour in records

is there a way to highlight in any colour only one or two
particular records. I have tried everything and ony
managed to highlight the whole page. please help.

Are you try to highlight in a form or report? If you can isolate the records with an expression, or value range, try using conditional formatting.

In design mode - In the Format menu, click on Conditional Formatting.

If this doesn't work, please provide additional details, as to what you are trying to do.
