acces 2000 trouble

i have a database that was in access 97 when i upgraded
that worked fine. now after the upgrade the database and
want to make selections in a pop up box it wont let me
accept or cancel. it just refreshes the popup box and i
need to kill the app to get out of it. i have this problem
with all the pop up selection boxes...is there a fix for
this
