Unable to Publish with MS Word |
| message from Vince on 25 May 2004 |
New to the group.
I am unable to publish a Report within ACCESS for Windows vers 2.0
with MS Word97 by use of the toolbar button
.
I am given an error message that says:
"Can't start object application."
That same error message appears when attempting to use the analyze
with MS Excell97 button from Access.
I am using ACCESS from Microsoft Office; its directory includes
subfolders for MS Powerpoint and for MS Access.
I then opened MSWORD97 prior to attempting to publish the Report, and
that did not work. I then copied the MSWORD97 .exe and the MS Exel
.exe files into the Microsoft Office directory; that has not helped.
Any ideas ?
TNX.

You may need to update your MDAC in order to use a version 2 with a version
97 database. There were significant changes between Access 2.0 and Office
97. Access 2.0 uses Access basic, where 97 uses VBA. I would install or
ensure you have installed MDAC 2.5 at minimum.

TNX fer ur reply, but I am at a loss here as what to do.
I did a FIND file for *MDAC*.* which gave me a list of seven files.
From what I see here, that list includes a MDACTWO.INF file sitting in
the C:\WINDOWS\INF subfolder.
I did a search via YAHOO and came upon a utility component checker
file named cc_pkg.exe vers 2.7 , which I have downloaded to my WIN98SE
computer. However, I am not sure that it will help me.
Should I download: mdac_typ.exe from
http://msdn.microsoft.com/dataaccess and not bother with the
component checker?
Any ideas ?
