Saving a file |

I currently have a file on a floppy that I want to
transfer to my hd. If I try to send copy it or save as, I
get a message saying "cyclic redundacy error" and it
won't save it to my hd. Any ideas as to what this means
and how I can get this file onto my hd?

Well in a way it does. First it's not the diskette, I can
read and write to it just fine. It's only when I try to
xfr an Access file to the HD from the diskette. I have
several other files on the diskette and everything works
just fine. I thought it might be some type of quirk within
Access.

A CRC error means corruption. The file is corrupted, hence the disk is
corrupted in the location where the file resides on it. Even if all the
other files "work fine," the file giving you the error is corrupted.
This really is not an issue pertinent to Access. Have you tried using
Scandisk?

Well I am able to read and save my db to the diskette and
also transfer the file to my pc at work. The problem only
happens when I am at home so I guess the problem is with
my hd? Again I apologize for posting it here bu as I
mentioned with everything esle working OK I thought it
might be an Access quirk.
