Pivot Table issues in Access

Hello all, I have an issue in access when I open most
databases. The problem comes up when I view the output of
a query in a Pivot Table view. When I select the
dropdowns to change the data that I am looking at the
checkmark boxes are always non-clickable. I cannot select
or deselect items in these menus. I am the only person to
my knowledge that is having this issue and I am one of
many who uses these databases.
