OT: Bookmarking posts and viewing via the web interface |
| message from Duncan Edment on 4 Jun 2004 |
Is it possible to bookmark a post on trhe web interface,
so that you can go to it automatically? It's becoming a
pain trying to view a post made some weeks ago, having to
go to a page number, and then moving back until I reach
the correct post.
Is there an easier way of doing it?
Rgds

Using Outlook Express, you can Flag or Watch Conversation. If you expect to
do any volume of newsgroup reading, it is far faster, and much easier to use
a news reader. There are dozens of them out there. Some, like OE are free
with Windows. Others, like Agent are reasonably priced. Agent has a free
version too.

The only problem I have with that Arvin, is that I am
currently at work and accessing the NGs. Our firewall /
Windows setup wont allow a newsreader like OE or Agent to
be setup and access the news servers. I have tried, but
they are just not budging on this.
So, I am left with having to access the NGs via the web.

I am afraid you are out of luck then. You can bookmark the main news page,
and even save the URL to get to the Access General Group, but not any
specific articles.
