New table in Design Master - no "Replication" icon

message from felecha on 13 May 2004
Using Access 2003.

Replication is new to me. But it's a very good solution to my need in
an application. I can enter configuration changes in one machine,
where the Design Master lives, then synchronize to the replica on the
remote machine, which uses the configuration data to control a system
there.

But I just now made a change to the Design Master - I added 2 tables.
I was surprised to see that in the Access UI the little yellow icon
with 2 arrows that is next to each table name is NOT there for the new
tables. And when I did the Synchronize command, the design changes did
not synchronize to the remote replica.

I thought that changes to the Design Master would be passed on to
replicas.

Well, this shows you I'm a beginner.

I just noticed for the first time that when you create a new table and
are asked to name it when you save it the first time, there's a little
checkbox at the bottom of the dialog box -- "Make replicable".

So that's what I need to do.
