How to replicate on XP tablet

Hello,
I have a DB in access 2000 - I want to sync this db so 5 laptops (running Xp tablet - and office 2003) can update info - and add info to it.
I will have a computer running Windows 2000 as server.
I ahve no idea on how replication and splitting works.
Can anyone help me ?
How can I do this over the internet too ?
