Help please with conversion |
| message from jw5 on 6 May 2004 |
We have emailed Access 2000 to another computer running Access 2000 where we
have had problems trying to use it for a merge. When we right click and
under properties it say under 'Type of File' 04 File where I would have
thought it should say MS Access.
I would appreciate any help on getting this to be a proper Access file.
Thanks in advance.

What is the easy way to have it read as a database file as when I look at it
it doesn't show the extension? Sorry if that is a stupid question.

Then rename it with the extension ".mdb".

The file may have been renamed inadvertently woth the extension "04". For
example "Mydatabase.mdb.04". Windows will see "04" as the extension of the
file name.
Rename the file by getting rid of ".04".
