Exporting to Excel to link to Powerpoint

I have exported query data using the macro Output to into Excel, data came out great - now I did Paste Link from that Excel data into a chart in PowerPoint it paste all the data but also inserts a column at the begining which throws my whole chart off.
I deleted the column but when I update the Excel spreadsheet with new Access data the column pops back in - I don't know what the glitch is. Paste Link data from an Excel spreadsheet I made and works fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
