Excel File Corruption when Linking to Access Database

Is there a fix for this problem?

When I Link an Excel file to an Access database (Office 2003), the file will usually get corrupted if I try to run any queries on it. The only way I have been able get around this is to first save the Excel file as an Excel 5.0/95 file type, which limits the features. Is there any way to fix this so I can use current versions of Excel?

Sorry, not a direct answer.

I have had similar experiences with Access2K using Excel2K
spreadsheets as linked Tables. Since then I avoid using
Excel spreadsheets as linked Tables at all costs.
