Can not import but can link excel file |
| message from =?Utf-8?B?WnVja2Vy?= on 21 May 2004 |
I am trying to import an excel spreadsheet with 80 columns and 20 records. I am able to successfully link the file but I can not import it. The reason is I need to edit the records. If I link, no edit. I tried adding a primary key but access 2000 will not let me. any ideas to fix this? T

You should be able to import more than 80 columns. Check your field names
in Excel and make sure that none of then have special characters such as /
\ or *. Are you getting any error message when you try to import the excel
file, or does Access create a table that gives you import errors?
