Calendar popup other than MS one? how to code into a solution?

message from StargateFan on 13 May 2004
Hi, Larry Daugherty so kindly recommended not using the MS calendar
component for user input for dates. He said, and it sounds imminently
logical, that version differences and OS differences affect how it
works and that I'd have to adjust for each type of change (I'm
paraphrasing so any incorrect interpretation of problem is mine <g>).

Larry recommended that I search for a calendar component that I can
code in, if I've understood correctly. However, I'm a real dunce at
that type of thing. I have years of Filemaker experience and the
calendar popups for that program are all shareware. The siimple ones
are also ones to be coded in and I haven't mastered that at all in all
this time. Access, with its more difficult VB language, might be
beyond me here, too, but was hoping there was something easy to use
that yet works like a calendar. There are too many FMP workarounds
that are simplistic and that don't operate on a calendar principle. I
don't like those at all.

So hoping that there is something a newbie can use that is still
possible to edit.

Thanks so much!

See the Calendar Tips page at my website
http://www.granite.ab.ca/access/calendars.htm
and look for a forms based calendar approach.

I suspect Lebans approach which Cheryl mentions would also be a matter
of copying code and using one line of code in the OnClick event.
