when you try to open a table it gives this error every
time.
The following are a list of things I have done to remedy:
Uninstall Completely and reinstall using eraser2k.
reregister dao360.dll

gat all windows updates
Systems Environment is W2K plenty of memory 61% free hard
disk space.
I have tried everything, I don't want to have to replace
this machine, please help.

Does it do so for *all databases*? If not, it's probably a corrupt
.mdb file, not a corrupt installation of Access. Your fixes should
have dealt with that possibility in any case.
How are you opening Access? Might it be a bad shortcut? If you
navigate to msaccess.exe and open Access (without a database) do you
get the error? If you then try to open a database, what happens?

I have tried opening many different mdb's even creating
new ones. The error only occurs when you try to open any
table in any view.

Well, let's start with some basic trouble shooting. Does the database work
if you move it to another computer? If you open a working database from
another computer on this one, does it work?

From your reply, I'm not sure if you copied the file currently on the
computer with the problem to another computer to try it or if you already
had a previously made copy on that other computer. If the latter, will
replacing the copy on the troublesome computer get rid of the problem?
If a total removal of Office and Access, as you described, doesn't fix the
problem and the file works ok on other computers, then it sounds as if the
Jet files have become corrupted on the computer. These aren't uninstalled
when Access is uninstalled since they are used for other things also. Can
you access the data in the tables using queries and the problem only occurs
when you directly open the table or can you not access the data at all? Are
the tables local tables or linked tables? Does each computer have its own
copy of the front-end database?

The problem doens't seem to be associated with the file
because the error can be reproduced from any file either
on the network or local disk, and does not occur on any
other machine.
The computer doesn't give the same error when tried to
run a query but instead locks up.
I would like to try uninstalling and reinstalling Jet.
I have gone out and updated, I think I have the latest
verion of Jet.
Can you point me to a document for the Jet reinstall?
