Access 2000 database Changes to Read-Only |
| message from ChrisCEXP on 19 May 2004 |
Database sits on a network drive and for some reason
modifies itself to be a read only database. No changes
are made it just changes to read only. Has done so the
last two days.
The database is shared not exclusive, and I have removed
any restrictions to users.
Their is also no LDB file to show that the database is
locked.

* Do you meant the Read attribute is flagged without any action from you /
users / network people?
* Do the users have Create / Read /Write / Delete on the Folder and Read
/Write permission on the file?
Users will need all this because they need to be able to create / delete the
LDB file.
* Have you split the database to Front-End and Back-End?
For a multi-user database, you should split the database to FE / BE.
