Access 2003 Importing missing File types

I have tried everything to resolve this issue with
Access 2003 Importing missing most File types.

Currently when selecting GET EXTERNAL DATA / IMPORT
only files of Type: MS Office Access, Sharepoint
Services, XML and ODBC

Missing are File types like: excel, txt, csv etc.

Have updated and detected and repaired several times.

Please help as this is a very important function.

I haven't seen this since Access 97, but it sounds like an ISAM problem.

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;171955 describes how
to fix it under Access 97, but it sounds like the same issue as you
currently have, couldn't hurt to try it, although the dll files are more
likely "msexcl40.dll" instead of "msexcl35.dll".
