2000 format in Access 2003

message from =?Utf-8?B?QWxsZXk=?= on 12 May 2004
Hi,

I have databases developed in Access 2000. Last week, my computer has been installed Access 2003 by someone else in the company. Now everytime when I opened my old access files in Access 2003. It give me some warning message like this: This file may not be safe if contains code that was intended to harm your computer. Do you want to open this file or cancel the operation? I always choose "Open" to get into my database since there is nothing wrong after that... Should I keep doing this or did I miss something here?

Another thing is even if I create a new database from Access 2003 first time, it would still prompt me the same above message when I open it later, i.e. the file I just newly created in Access 2003 is showed in Access 2000 format after I reopen it. I am just wondering are there anything wrong with this? Why it's not Access 2003 format if I create a new database in Access 2003?

Thanks for your response!

Alley,

If you change the setting to Low, your messages will go away. BTW...You
will see simular warnings from all the new version of Mircrosoft
Office...You can do the same thing from each application to make these go
away...

In a business environment where your sources are trusted, it makes since to
lower these security settings...Just be aware of the potential risks. ;-)

Hope this helps,

Mark

FWIW those potential risks were always there. MS is just tightening
things up a fair bit. Which is understandable.
