hi all new to this site
i have a site designed in dreamweaver and was wondering if anyone can tell me how to take the site offline temporaraly
and then up load it again

me how to take the site offline temporaraly
FTP to the server, delete all the files. When ready, upload the new ones.

Rename the index.html page? Or just move everything from the root into a
holding folder?

if i remove all the files will i have to re do all the links etc again???
and if i rename the index.html to say page1.html will that take it
offline untill i change it back to index.html
sorry for the daft questions but im new to this web building lark :O)
