simple qstn: can I preview without saving?

message from inter7 on 23 Jul 2004
I think this is a simple issue - I have been using Dreamweaver in Win XP &
recently got a 17" PowerBook with OS X.

On the PC when you hit F12 to preview, the webpage just appears in the
browser. On the Mac you're required to save your work before previewing - I
don't like this because if I save something (such as a javascript) and it
doens't work properly, I can't revert to a previous version. This renders the
preview feature nearly useless on the Mac verision.

Is there a way to preview a page in the primary or secondard browser without
needing to save the work?

I don't use a Mac, but it's probably a DW settings problem. Look through the
Preferences and find the one about "Viewing temporary pages" and make sure
that's what you have checked.

By the way, you are only required to save before previewing if you are not
using temp files. It has nothing to do with Mac/PC.
